To Apply

We know many candidates may not check every box. If this role resonates with you, we encourage you to apply. We are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve and to creating an environment where people can grow into their leadership.

Instead of a cover letter, please submit your resume and answers to the questions below at careers@voqalpartners.org. Put “Managing
Director, Sales & Operations” in the subject line of the email.

1.   Using 200 words or less, tell us about the most effective salesperson or business development leader you’ve worked with. What made them successful? How have they influenced your own approach?

2.   Using 200 words or less, tell us how you approach balancing revenue goals with mission alignment. In your view, what responsibility do organizations have beyond delivering a product or service?

3.   Using 200 words or less, tell us about a time you helped grow or improve a program, business line, customer experience, or operational system. What was your role, and what did you learn from that experience?

4.   Using 200 words or less, tell us about a time you took on work that fell outside your formal role or responsibilities. What was the situation, why did you do it, and how did you approach it?

  1.

A written narrative is a clear and straightforward way to share your thinking, and many successful candidates chose that route. That said, you are welcome to answer the questions with a short presentation (up to 10 slides total) or an audio-visual file (up to 4 minutes total). Choose the approach that helps us understand you best.

AI Protocol

We understand that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a part of everyday life. We don’t ignore that reality, but we’re hiring you, not your AI assistant. Please do not use AI to generate your responses, either for written submissions or live interview questions. We want to understand your judgment, voice, and problem-solving style. If the main substance of a written submission was created by AI and not you, that’s a no-go.

You may use AI for basic proofreading tasks (such as grammar, spelling, or clarity), as long as the core content and ideas are your own. During live interviews, AI tools should not be used to produce or display answers. If you use AI, be transparent. It will not count against you. It shows thoughtfulness and integrity.
