IMMIGRANT JUSTICE

With globalization and climate change, the purpose of borders feels more secondary to ensuring everyone can access liberatory structures. For those who seek a life outside of their ancestral lands, we need to ensure the transition is attainable, dignified, and equitable. We believe that a sprinkling of immigration justice will tie all the ingredients together.

SOCIAL PROTECTIONS

A container to hold initiatives and actions that ensure everyone can express their cultural, personal, and spiritual identities without fear of physical, emotional, and economic harm. When we add in concentrated support for historically marginalized populations, the liberated leadership really comes through. 

RACIAL JUSTICE

Our country’s institutional and economic foundation centers on Black and brown bodies being threatened, exploited, and damaged in the name of progress. The base of any liberation recipe is a heaping amount of racial justice to hold up pro-Black realities.

INDIGENOUS JUSTICE

Communities stewarded the land we now call the United States and its territories long before colonizers stepped foot on it. We must follow the lead of their Indigenous descendants who possess the knowledge and connection to land, people, and purpose in ways no other element of collective liberation can hope.  

LGBTQIA+ JUSTICE

There is nothing more liberatory than openly being with the people you love. When it comes to shaping a world of collective liberation, we’ll need a whole lotta groundwork led by those marginalized because of who and how they love. Everyone can use a little sugar, right?

HEALTH JUSTICE

Our bodies come in all varieties, and some of those differences make it harder to participate in our public life due to the lack of universal design throughout our infrastructure. When we add a little, and definitely when we add a lot, of change makers at the forefront of ensuring everyone has the health care and societal access they need and deserve, we’re creating a liberated concoction for sure.

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE

We live on this planet we call Earth and rely on its physical offerings to survive. When water, food, energy, and shelter become scarce without proper regulations, we need as much environmental equity focus as possible. Our home is abundant, but it takes a lot of work to ensure its longevity. Add it all in!

SHARED PROSPERITY

A container for work to ensure sustainable allocation when exchanging goods and services, protecting resources, and providing for one another. When we add justice-oriented ingredients aimed at equitable distribution with reparative mindsets around access to health, supplies, information, and wealth, we’re that much closer to a Paul Hollywood handshake (if you know, you know).

ECONOMIC JUSTICE

An equitable distribution of wealth across all levels of the production chain ensures an equal rise across the board. When we expand the meaning of wealth and ensure access to its benefits, we allow space for families and communities to feel secure and liberated. 

DIGITAL JUSTICE

In our modern world, we must keep information channels open and accessible to share knowledge, art, health and safety guidance, and more. We cannot be liberated without knowledge and connection. Stir in as many efforts as desired to add free broadcast system spice to your recipe.  

NARRATIVE JUSTICE

There is nothing more important than a storyteller. Whoever controls a narrative, shapes what happens when that narrative goes viral. We support communities taking back the control about what is said regarding their people and using that power to hold folks accountable to the misguided, false, and dangerous narratives they preach. A lot goes a long way when mixing in – add liberally!

SELF DETERMINATION

A container to tie it all together. When we have shared prosperity combined with social protections, we need self-determination to ensure the processes and structures to hold them in place stays firm. Sometimes, we may need to add a little more of any ingredient or adjust temperatures based on external factors, but with equitable electoral, judicial, and legislative methods stewarded by democratic determination, we’ll always end up nailing it. And not in the ironic way.

ELECTORAL JUSTICE

We need robust and deep civic institutions that allow for accessible and equitable accountability measures, from voting to participatory budgeting to public comment periods. Whisk in activities to strengthen and grow our people-centric electoral structures and you’ll get fool-proof liberation.

SOCIAL JUSTICE

The ultimate sprinkling of support for transforming our societal structures into liberatory expansive offerings. Everything intersects here, whether sweeping federal changes or hyper local solutions. We recommend stirring in as much as possible, it will only make the recipe more flavorful.
